• 「それとも」 is used ONLY in questions: 「行きますか。それとも、やめますか」.
• Different from 「または」 (used in declarative sentences to state a choice of options: 「メールまたは電話でご連絡ください」) and 「あるいは」 (written style).
• A declarative sentence listing options does NOT use 「それとも」 — this is a very common mistake.

  Will you have coffee, or tea?

• 今日(きょう)出発(しゅっぱつ)しますか。それとも明日(あした)にしますか。

• Only used in questions.
• For statements, use 「または／あるいは」 instead.

  A declarative sentence must use 「または」; 「それとも」 is only used when asking.

  ถูกコーヒーと紅茶(こうちゃ)、どちらがいいですか。

  Don't combine 「と」 with 「それとも」; this type of question only needs 「どちら」.
