วิธีใช้
เมนารูห์ เปราซาน ดิ เอาวัล กาลิมัท บารู เคมูเดียน เมนเซริตากัน เกจาเดียนยา. ฮันยา ทิปาไก เดนกัน กะตะ ยัง เมนยาตากัน เปราซาน, ดาลัม บาฮาซา ตูลิส.
- 「~ことに」 comes at the START of the sentence: 「驚いたことに、彼は一位だった」 (to my surprise, he came in first place).
- Only combines with emotion words: 驚いた・困った・うれしい・悲しい・残念な・幸いな. It does not combine with ordinary verbs — 「食べたことに」 is incorrect.
- Do not confuse with 「ことに+verb」 (nominalizer + particle): 「彼が帰国することに驚いた」 — here 「こと」 is a nominalizer, not the exclamatory pattern. These two usages are different.
ตัวอย่าง
驚いたことに、彼はたった一人で山に登ったそうだ。
