How to use it
State the purpose of movement using the verbs 行く・来る・帰る.
- The particle に comes after the purpose, and the movement verb comes at the end of the sentence.
- With a verb, use the ます stem: 食べます → 食べに行きます; with an activity noun, it can connect directly, like 買い物に行きます.

I am going to the station to meet my friend.
日本へ日本語を勉強しに来ました。

Keep in mind
- Don't use the dictionary form before に in this purpose-of-movement pattern.
