Terms of Service

The effective date is shown in the app — the most complete version always lives here and in the app.

1. Acceptance of these terms

GoMe is a Japanese-learning app developed and operated by Lê Việt Đức — an individual. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be 13 years of age or older. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of your parent or guardian.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe.
  • One account per user; do not share your account with anyone else.
  • You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
  • You may delete your account at any time from inside the app. The account is deleted immediately. There is no waiting period and no way to restore it.

4. Permitted use

You may use GoMe for personal study. You may not:

  • Copy, redistribute, or sell GoMe's learning content.
  • Use automated tools to collect content in bulk.
  • Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or disrupt it.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Harass, threaten, abuse, or stalk other users.
  • Use a display name that is obscene, discriminatory, hateful, sexualised, or that impersonates someone else.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach the above.

GoMe has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You can report a user from their profile screen in the app; we act on every report within 24 hours and may remove content, suspend, or terminate the offending account without prior notice. You can also block any user at any time from that same profile screen.

5. Content and intellectual property

  • The interface, the source code, the way the learning path is organized, and the content authored by GoMe belong to the operator.
  • The learning content uses data from open datasets (JMdict, KANJIDIC2, KRADFILE, Unihan, KanjiVG, Tatoeba, Tanos) and synthesized speech from VOICEVOX Nemo, in accordance with the license of each source. The full list of sources and licenses is on the Content credits screen in the app.
  • Your progress and your learning data belong to you.

6. Payment

GoMe follows a freemium model. You can always study BEGINNER and N5 for free, with no time limit. When the paid GoMe+ plan goes on sale, N4 and above (N4, N3, N2, N1, Business) will belong to that plan.

In the version you are using, GoMe+ is not on sale and all learning content is open for free — you are not charged for any content.

When GoMe+ goes on sale, the plans will be:

  • 59,000 VND/month and 299,000 VND/year — renewing automatically at exactly the price shown at the time of purchase, unless you cancel before the next renewal date.
  • 799,000 VND/lifetime — a one-time payment, no automatic renewal. This plan is offered for a limited period only and may be withdrawn at any time; people who have already bought it are not affected.

For recurring plans (monthly/yearly):

  • Cancellation: through your App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) subscription settings — GoMe does not handle cancellation directly in the app. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for; it is not cut off immediately.
  • Refunds: subject to the refund policy of the App Store or Google Play, depending on the platform you use — GoMe does not handle refunds itself.

General terms applying to every plan:

  • The price and what the plan includes are stated clearly before you pay.
  • Payment is processed through the App Store or Google Play; we do not receive and do not store your card details.
  • If you change device or reinstall the app: once GoMe+ is on sale, use Restore purchases on the Paid plans screen to get back what you bought; you do not need to buy it again.
  • A feature that is free at the time you use it will not be turned into a paid feature without prior notice.

Advertising. GoMe may show full-screen ads served by Google AdMob, only at moments after you have finished learning (after a lesson, test, handwriting or video result) — never in the middle of an exercise. The ads and their content belong to the advertiser, not to GoMe; we do not endorse or take responsibility for advertised products or services, and interacting with an ad is your own decision. You can decline ad personalisation in the consent dialog — how we and AdMob handle data for this purpose is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. About the JLPT trademark

GoMe builds its learning path on the JLPT reference framework, using the levels N5 through N1 as level estimates.

GoMe is not affiliated with, not certified by, and has no relationship with the Japan Foundation, JEES, or any organizer of the JLPT examination. Test results inside the app are not a certificate and are no substitute for the official JLPT examination.

8. Service provided "as is"

GoMe is provided in the state it is in. We do our best to keep the service running reliably and the content accurate, but we make no commitment that the service will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that you will achieve any particular learning outcome.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of, or the inability to use, the service.

These terms do not exclude any liability that the laws of Vietnam do not permit to be excluded.

10. Changes to the service and to these terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue part or all of the service. When the terms change in a way that affects you, we will notify you in the app, the next time you open it, before the change takes effect; minor changes are recorded only with a new effective date at the top of this document. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means that you accept the new terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate your access if you breach these terms.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. Any dispute arising will be resolved by a court of competent jurisdiction in Vietnam.
