About
Who is behind GoMe Nihongo, and how the news is made
GoMe is a Japanese-learning app for Vietnamese speakers. This page says who is behind it, where the study data comes from, and how articles in the News section are edited and sourced.
Who runs GoMe
GoMe is a Japanese-learning app built and operated by Lê Việt Đức — an individual, not an organisation.
How News is edited
- An article about an official notice or regulation names its source, links to the original page and gives the date it was checked, at the end of the article.
- The content is rewritten in plain Japanese. Every line has furigana and a translation right below it, and you can turn either off.
- Every article shows its publication date. If it is edited afterwards, an updated date appears next to it.
- Articles about procedures (visas, taxes, work) usually close by reminding you to open the cited agency’s official page before you act.
- The News section has three kinds of article — News, Life in Japan and Bilingual — which you can filter at the top. Every article carries the byline “Edited by GoMe Nihongo”; articles are not yet attributed to individual authors.
Where the study data comes from
The dictionary and kanji data build on open datasets, credited under each source’s licence. The Vietnamese meanings, mnemonics and example sentences are written by GoMe.
- JMdict, KANJIDIC2 and KRADFILE from the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group (EDRDG): vocabulary, readings, kanji, decomposition. EDRDG licence.
- Unihan (Unicode): Sino-Vietnamese readings.
- KanjiVG (Ulrich Apel): stroke order, CC BY-SA 3.0.
- The full list of credits is in the Credits screen of the app.
