How to use it
States that a matter TOUCHES something important (life, honor, future). Not the meaning "about".
- 「Nに関わる」 = touches N, affects N. N is something IMPORTANT/critical: 命・信用・名誉・将来・合否.
- Don't confuse it with 「に関して」 (about a matter…): 「試験内容に関して質問がある」 is what means "having a question ABOUT the exam content" — using 「に関わって」 there is wrong.
- There is also the meaning "to be involved in": 「このプロジェクトに関わっている人」 (people involved in the project).
Examples
これは命に関わる問題だから、すぐに病院へ行ってください。
This is a life-threatening matter, so please go to the hospital at once.

Keep in mind
- N must be something critical (life, trust, future, etc.).
- The meaning "about a matter…" is 「に関して」.
