How to use it
A strong assertion: the essence of the matter is precisely this, and nothing else. Written argumentative style.
- 「Nにほかならない」 = it is precisely N and nothing else: 「彼の成功は努力の結果にほかならない」.
- When stating a REASON, use the frame 「~からにほかならない」: 「成功したのは、準備を重ねたからにほかならない」.
- Only attaches to a NOUN (or a clause + から) — a catalog showing it attaching directly to an adjective or verb is wrong.
Examples
彼の成功は、長年の努力の結果にほかならない。
His success is nothing other than the result of years of effort.
計画がうまくいったのは、皆が協力したからにほかならない。

Keep in mind
- Only attaches to a noun or 「~から」.
- Written argumentative style, a strong assertive tone.
