How to use it
A very strong subjective assertion: the speaker is certain, no evidence needed. Colloquial.
- 「~に決まっている」 = it's certainly…: 「こんな話、うそに決まっている」.
- A noun and na-adjective attach DIRECTLY, without adding 「だ」 — a catalog showing 「だに決まっている」 is wrong.
- It is a SUBJECTIVE belief, so it is not used in objective reports; use 「に違いない」 or 「はずだ」 there.
