How to use it
States a place, means, or the moment of ending. Only used in formal letters, invitations, announcements.
- 「にて」 = the formal-letter version of 「で」: 「会議はホテルにて行われます」「詳細はメールにてご連絡いたします」.
- Also used to declare an ending: 「本日はこれにて終了とさせていただきます」 — a fixed phrase in ceremonies.
- Using 「にて」 in everyday conversation sounds stiff and old-fashioned; use 「で」 there instead.

The meeting will be held in the third-floor conference room.
