How to use it

Expressing frequency by placing a time period before に and the number of times after に.

に defines the frequency measuring frame, for example 一週間に三回 means three times per week.
Do not use に after frequency words without a number, such as 毎日 or いつも.

Examples

一週間(いっしゅうかん)に三(さん)回(かい)、図書館(としょかん)へ行(い)きます。
I go to the library three times a week.
一(いち)年(ねん)に二(に)回(かい)、家族(かぞく)に会(あ)います。
I see my family twice a year.

Common mistakes

Wrong毎日(まいにち)に二(に)回(かい)、薬(くすり)を飲(の)みます。

Correct毎日(まいにち)二(に)回(かい)、薬(くすり)を飲(の)みます。

毎日 is already a frequency word by itself; don't place に right after 毎日.
