Noun男/女 → 男にしろ女にしろ
Verb行く/行かない → 行くにしろ行かないにしろ

How to use it

States two opposing possibilities, then asserts an unchanged conclusion. Written style, decisive tone.

  • 「AにしろBにしろ」 = whether A or B: 「行くにしろ行かないにしろ、早く決めてください」.
  • A and B must be two OPPOSING or same-category possibilities; the second clause is an unchanged conclusion/request.
  • Same-meaning variants: 「~にせよ~にせよ」 (more formal), 「~にしても~にしても」 (softer).

Examples

  • Whether you go or not, please let me know early.

  • Whether you agree or disagree, you should state your reasons clearly.

  • Hot or cold, you should exercise every day.

Keep in mind

  • Both clauses are the same category or opposites.
  • A noun attaches directly, without adding 「だ」.

Whether hot or cold, one should exercise.

Whether going or not, please get in touch.
