• 「～なくはない」 = a double negative → a cautious affirmation: “it's not that it's not...”, i.e. partly true.
• Used when wanting to admit part of something without fully committing.
• Close to 「～ないものでもない」 (more formal) and 「～ないこともない」 (more colloquial).

  It’s not that I don’t understand how he feels.

  Depending on the terms, I wouldn’t necessarily refuse.

ข้อผิดพลาดที่พบบ่อย

• ผิด必(かなら)ず分(わ)からなくはない。

  Surely it is not that I don't understand at all.

  ถูกまあ、分(わ)からなくはない。

  This pattern is a CAUTIOUS affirmation, which contradicts 「必ず」.

• ผิด分(わ)かるはない。

  It's not that I don't understand.

  ถูก分(わ)からなくはない。

  The structure needs the NEGATIVE form before adding 「はない」.
