Japan's Official 2026 Year-End Tax Adjustment Software Is Out — Free, Ready From December 1

年末調整(ねんまつちょうせい)の手続(てつづ)きを、今(いま)も紙(かみ)に手書(てが)きで出(だ)している人(ひと)は多(おお)いです。

Many people still fill out year-end tax adjustment paperwork by hand on paper.

国税庁(こくぜいちょう)は2026年(ねん)10月(がつ)1日(にち)、令和(れいわ)8年(ねん)分(ぶん)の「年調(ねんちょう)ソフト」正式版(せいしきばん)と操作(そうさ)マニュアルを公開(こうかい)しました。

On October 1, 2026, Japan's National Tax Agency released the official version of its 'nenchō software' for the Reiwa-8 tax year, along with an operating manual.

このソフトを使(つか)うと、保険料(ほけんりょう)控除(こうじょ)や扶養(ふよう)家族(かぞく)の情報(じょうほう)を、紙(かみ)の申告書(しんこくしょ)ではなくスマートフォンやパソコンの画面(がめん)で入力(にゅうりょく)できます。

With this software, you can enter information like insurance premium deductions or dependents directly on your phone or computer screen instead of on a paper form.

令和(れいわ)8年(ねん)分(ぶん)のソフトは、2026年(ねん)12月(がつ)1日(にち)以降(いこう)に行(おこな)う年末調整(ねんまつちょうせい)の手続(てつづ)きに対応(たいおう)しています。

This Reiwa-8 version of the software supports year-end adjustment procedures carried out from December 1, 2026 onward.

入手(にゅうしゅ)方法(ほうほう)は二(ふた)つあります。スマートフォンの場合(ばあい)は、App Store、Google Playストア、Microsoftストアで「年末調整(ねんまつちょうせい) 国税庁(こくぜいちょう)」と検索(けんさく)してください。

There are two ways to get it. On a phone, search for '年末調整 国税庁' (year-end adjustment, National Tax Agency) on the App Store, Google Play, or Microsoft Store.

パソコンの場合(ばあい)は、国税庁(こくぜいちょう)の該当(がいとう)ページからWindows版(ばん)またはMacintosh版(ばん)のファイルを直接(ちょくせつ)ダウンロードできます。利用(りよう)は無料(むりょう)です。

On a computer, you can download the Windows or Macintosh version directly from the agency's page. The software is completely free.

同(おな)じ国税庁(こくぜいちょう)は2026年(ねん)10月(がつ)5日(にち)から、税務(ぜいむ)相談(そうだん)チャットボット「ふたば」でも令和(れいわ)8年(ねん)分(ぶん)の年末調整(ねんまつちょうせい)に関(かん)する質問(しつもん)を受(う)け付(つ)け始(はじ)めました。

Also starting October 5, 2026, the agency's tax-consultation chatbot 'Futaba' began accepting questions specifically about the Reiwa-8 year-end adjustment.

チャットボットは土日(どにち)や夜間(やかん)でも24時間(じかん)使(つか)えますが、AI(エーアイ)が答(こた)えるサービスなので、個人(こじん)情報(じょうほう)は入力(にゅうりょく)しないでください。

The chatbot is available 24 hours a day, including weekends and nights, but since an AI generates the answers, don't enter personal information into it.
